About Us

Fiona Edwards (Principal)

Hey, this picture is a favourite of mine taken on a photo shoot for some promotional work. Musical Theatre is my passion and since going to my first dance class at 4 years old I have spent the rest of my life working within the show business industry. I met Jeff in 2005 when we worked together in the Rod Stewart production of “Tonight’s The Night”, and the chemistry between us was apparent straight away. So much so, that we married in 2011. So I guess you could say that now I have two passions!! I hope you have read my biography on the Home Page that will give you a little insight into my history as a performer. Jeff and I looked at other dance and drama schools in the area and felt they lacked professional commitment. We looked at each other and thought,” Do you know what…. We HAVE read the book, seen the film, AND starred in it too”…! We really are professionals and we do have the commitment. So we opened Ad Astra Theatre School, it’s a Latin phrase that means “To The Stars”. I believe the name encapsulates everything that we offer the children, and since 2009 we have gone from strength to strength, with some of our students now moving on to full time Drama College or starring in West End shows themselves. I hope your children enjoy their time with us as much as we do with them.

Jeff Edwards (Director)

Hi guys, this is me whilst performing in “Chicago”. I was fortunate enough to land this job and get my first West End break in London, straight after leaving college. I started out as a Latin American Dancer and at the age of sixteen I decided to turn my hobby into a career and went on to train at Lewisham College. I always thought that I wouldn’t be able to replicate the buzz I felt when performing, however since Fi and I opened Ad Astra Theatre School in 2009 I can truly say that I have the best of both worlds. Not only am I continuing my work within the industry I  love, the pleasure I derive from teaching the children and seeing them grow in confidence, is immeasurable and on top of this I get to work with my gorgeous wife. Fi and I constantly strive to innovate and look for new ways to enhance your child’s enjoyment. Our end of year show which is getting bigger and better each time, is our way of giving something back to our parents and saying thank you. As parents ourselves we understand the immense responsibility that is placed upon us, when your child is left in our care. Their health and well-being will always be our primary concern and after this our objective is to have fun and learn. We will always aim “To the Stars“ ………………….. I hope you do too.
